Hi and warm welcome to the forum.

Er, I don't think your front passenger will be too happy if you try and fit a guitar inside them!

The boot can be made bigger by removing the multi-changer hump (if you have one - see the Z3 knowledge base for more info). If the boot still isn't big enough, then most things will got on the passenger seat or in the footwell. I've had a domestic air-conditioner and loft-ladder in mine (not at the same time - and I did have the roof down).

You any good? We have some budding guitarists on here (not me though - I' tone deaf!).

Cheers R.

Depending on the size of the guitar.
In general I'd say no, unless it's a ukelele

Fits the passenger side but depends on the type of case. The length is fine but its the width that is the killer.

Now, where have I heard that before.

I am thinking about a parlour sized accoustic, that should fit in the boot with a hard case

Hi, I have managed to fit a Gibson LP and an Ibanez RG both in hardcases into my boot, erm trunk, at the same time... plenty of space :) All i had to do was take out the puncture repair kit to make the space. I dont think an accoustic guitar would fit though.

We are often travelling (two people in one Zed) with an accoustic guitar (ovation) in soft case, small mixer, wireless mic system, planty of cables and loudspeaker stand (all those in a boot) and just in front of passanger's seat - 200 watt amplified loudspeaker!!! :D
And we are usually making small shopping after the gig!!!

Hiscocks make a very good range of form-fit cases for Strats, Teles etc that would fit into the passengers side as would a Gibson Les Paul case but not a standard Fender case or something larger like a 335. Also there's certainly room behind the seats with the hood up for a soft bag for effects, leads etc. I did manage to carry a short-chassis Mk4 Boogie in the boot on one occasion but I had to use bubble wrap and a bungee. However that was an emergency when my other car was off the road and I wouldn't recommend it. The handling characteristics are certainly interesting with an 85lb amp in the boot!!

I have no problem getting a Telecaster in the boot of mine , even before I removed the multichanger, Someone else on a similar thread said the got a les Paul and an Ibanez in his at the one time , so no problems with electrics , I am looking for a parlour sized accoustic in the hope that it will fit in the boot with a hard case. My mandolin goes in no problem

As a bass player....
I can go to rehearsals in RED with my Hohner cricket-bat Steinberger copy and 65W Trace Elliot combo....
But for a gig, the 450W Ampeg rig and 2 or 3 guitars don't quite fit.... :rtm:

Why do you think the missus has a Megane?

Wow Alfie....didnt know you was a guitar player, yet alone gigging, tell us more.

I notice some of you guys re talking about banjos' and yukelele's, I am currently considering buying a bouzouki, now that would be interesting.

We should start up a virtual Zed band, err.....maybe Em Zed and the Roadsters :)

For the record, I am an absolute beginner, been playing since Oct last year and already done a performance in a local folk club with Bob Marleys No Woman No Cry. Its a foookin lafff!!

Welllllll.....

I've been a bass player for....ahem....quite a few years, and spent most of those years in various gigging bands from youth clubs through pubs and social clubs to most of the top venues in London and all over the country. Always as an amateur or semi-pro, never full time.

My most recent band, of which I was also the manager, has finally fallen apart after about 12 years of reasonable success in the weddings+corporate scene, so I'm currently bandless, which suits me right now.

I also play for several drama groups, spending time in the pit about 3 or 4 times a year. Just finished a very successful panto in Palmers Green. (OH NO YOU DIDN'T.... )

Big problem is that there are SO MANY Zed events we want to go to that my music (and another serious hobby) are taking a back seat at the moment. There's a show I really want to do, but it clashes with the Norfolk weekender..... :head:

So if 'Em Zed and the Roadsters' need a bass player..... :D

Yep - another six-stringer here. Been playing and gigging for 30+ years, although like others here, currently band-less. If 'Zed and the Roadsters' need a guitarist, I'm in :D

:D :D

Now this could be a really interesting "band". What styles/genres are you all playing, blues, rock, folk etc. Personally, my background is hip hop from back when i used to DJ (old skool from early 80's thru to early 90's), and now that i have picked up the guitar i am trying to learn lots of reggae (my other fav music genre), as there isn't much guitar in Hip Hop.

A lot of the music i am being given to practise to is stuff like Eagles, Snow Patrol, Buddy Holly, Big Bill Broonzy, Del Amitri, Labi Siffri (too difficult for me Something Inside So Strong - lots of different bar chords), and lots more. Its very interesting.

Current band line-up; Alfie on bass - Fury Dice on lead - Tags on rythem and Gazza twanging his banjo

I used to play guitar in band that did all that MOR stuff for clubs.
I often wished I'd played in a band like this instead.
I mean I often wished I'd been talented enough LOL

I'd heard it was someone that can play the trombone but doesn't. That would seem to be more apt.
