Screeching / Squealing

Post by BonBon »

When the car warms up - have some squealing at low/medium speeds when turning and when slowing down.
It subsides if I apply the brakes - so I don't thing it's connected to the steering. I just had a service so the pads are not finished.
It must be a common problem...
Can anyone advise??

I had a similar problem (squealing during turns) and also excessive dust on the wheel it was coming from (front right). Turned out to be glazing on the pads or some sort of debris between pad and disc, braking really hard a few times cured it.

On my 3er i had a periodic squeal from the rear which increased in frequency with speed. Turned out to be a loose handbrake shoe spring, so that was a quick fix too.

Tried that and it didn't work (hard braking in reverse as well)
I suspect it's vibration of one of the pads. When I have the energy I'll see if anti squeal gook does the trick.
