Uneven idle 1999 2.8 double vanos

Post by phb10186 »

If I blip the throttle to say 2500, upon dropping the revs dip to about 300 or so then go back to normal idle at about 750.... does this all the time and is a real pain, like when changing down from 3rd to 2nd, the revs are never in the right place.

also noticed kangarooing and spluttering when cold, especially when let to get hot, then left for say an hour (until 80% cold) then started again... very annoying.

-Research directs me to the idle control valve - which I plan to clean,

-And the Cam sensor, which if the above doesnt work, I will replace.

ICV is possible, but I suspect you may have a leak in one of you vacum hoses.

Check your hoses for cracks/splits etc.
