Car Insurance!

Any recommendations for cheap car insurance sites?

I'm 27 with 7 years no claims and the cheapest quote I've had so far is £786! :head:

Try Elephant and Admiral - we were with Elephant but then moved to Admiral's multi-car policy and I must say they were really helpful. The two companies are virtually the same, same staff etc. We got a good deal but I'm 10 yrs older - worth a look though. Caroline

Hi,

Thanks for the replies - I've tried all of the common sites gocompare.com, money supermarket, elephant etc

The prices really seem to vary.

Try going through a broker.

I looked at all the online comparison sites and although some of the quotes looked good, once you went through the process they always seemed to go up when you got to the final figure.

However my broker got me insurance on my Z3M for less than 2/3 of what was quoted online with Royal Sun Alliance - around £395.

Try Chris Knott Insurance Brokers on 0800 917 2274

They seem to be consistently very competitive.....

Hagerty Classic Car Insurance on 01327856002 are by far the best I found in both price and service but they will only insure the second car (ie not the daily driver).

Regards.

Adrian Flux and Privilege are the best for me by a country mile - z4m, 28, 7year no claims, come in at just over £900 with all the bells and whistles - the rest were all 2K+ on the comparison sites.

Last year on the z4 3.0l, my best quote was around £650, so I don't think you're that far off getting the best price unfortunately.

Try sticking a parent on the quote as well, used to bring premiums down by 10% for me.

Also try finding someone cheap on http://www.quidco.com/ and get the affiliate revenue share back instead of the comparison sites. Also, once you find the best on the comparison site, go direct.

My Zed is insured with Adrian Flux on a cherished policy, which was by far the cheapest option for me, but both my daily driver and the wife's car are insured through Zurich.

I would recommend Admiral, have been with them for several years. I pay £250 for a 2.8 for me and the misses. im 34 with 10 years no claims though which might make a difference. Anything over £500 seems pretty high to me. over 30 it all gets a bit cheaper, one of the advantages of getting older i guess!
