Yep, it looks like he's gone, although I have absolutely no idea how it happened. So far, it doesn't sound like any of the moderators have any idea what happened either.

I can only surmise that the abortive attempt at a hack a couple of weeks ago had something to do with it, but that really is just a guess.

If Mike reads this, it would be great if you could get hold of me at spokeymon at hotmail dot com and I will try and get you re-instated somehow.

Don't know how, though, never had to do anything like that before. :?

Wierd, but exciting.........

I can try and get his details via the Car Club and I know he's now advertising his gaff as a B&B in France now too, so he wont be in hiding.

Great News - Answer from Mike

Post by BonBon »

I just got this PM from Mike:

"I don't know why, but I cannot log on to zroadster, being told that my username, password, and eamil are incorrect and/or do not match!

I have emailed zroadster admin twice, but have not received a reply, so if you would send a pm to Spokey or Stu I would be very obliged.

Best wishes,

Mike F"

Spokey/Stu - I'll send you Mike's contact info.

Quick, someone start a thread about finding a hardtop fitting kit for a n00b!

Use the Search button before posting newbie questions about hard tops and fitting kits, footwell speaker amps, water in the boot, hood maintainance and those horrific angel eyes. We get like 10 threads a week on the same subject, it's obvious that you haven't searched.

Been away in France and 1 or 2 things to catch up with since too.

I'll see if there's anything I can do.

Thanks for the PM.

Same thing happened to me. My account was wiped out and I had to re-register. I appear to have lost all my info :(

Looks like I am a total noob again !

I think it might pay to look more into this . I note that site admin (Tim)now has a user name of HACKER.

I noticed that all Mike's posts had the username Guest against them with no hyperlink to the profile - I would take this to mean that the account has been deleted. It is probably possible to recreate it, or to associate the posts with a new account if you're good at SQL, but it requires direct access to the database, not through the forum software.

On the plus side, I see that Mike has re-registered, so welcome back to both Mike and Si.

Cheers R.

I don't suppose that it would be too difficult to link ALL the posts by "guest" to "Mike Fishwick". The problem will be that some of those posts will not be his.

The words of an amateur database user - me.

Good luck to whoever takes on this task.

Correct, around 2000 posts now marked as guest will be mine as I suffered the same fate :(
