What's this Z3 worth - Genuinely

Post by ferark »

I have this:

It's a 2.2 Dec 2001 model
20,470 miles on the clock
All previous MOT and history
Drives faultlessly

It's up on ebay now for £9,495 - Ebay item number: 270502982135

I'm new to the Z3 market what is it genuinely worth?

I saw it earlier today and thought what a beautiful car it is.But did think you may struggle with it at that price despite its fantastic condition and mileage. It got me thinking though what would I pay for it and if I was looking for one I would stretch possibly to 8.5 k.
Bear in mind the current financial climate, the time of year being xmas and also the season your selling it in.
That said it's worth what someone will pay,so good luck with the sale, someone is going to be a very happy, lucky owner, and i'd love it :D

Considering I paid £7200 for a 2000/x 3.0 with 18000 on the clock with split rims, heated seats etc.. I would say a 2.2 of similar mileage would only go for £6-6.5k at the most, especially this time of year. People on this forum have been having problems shifting much more desirable models for a lot less than you are asking..

But I am not a trader, so good luck, I hope you get what you are looking for.

I bought a one owner 2.2 Sport with hardtop at 30,000 miles and full service history - last two by indies - for £8,600 last September. It is almost the last of the line built in June 2002. I feel that was not a bad deal by comparing it with others at the time. The hardtop makes a few hundred difference.

cheers for info, it's advertised at £9,495 but I don't expect to get that. The 3.0 sport for £7,200 sounds like you bought a bargain! I'll see what response I get in the next week and see what money I'm offered and let you know
Cheers

I think the "normal" price for a private 2.2 in decent nick with c50,000 miles is between £6.5k and £7k. Thats advertised prices so probably actually sell for £6-6.5k ish.

Yours is obviously a "good un" (I too noticed it before this post) and I would have thought it would command up to £1,000 premium to someone looking for a minter. Personally I wold think up to £7.5k.

A dealer would be looking for £8 - £10k depending on what it stood him on his books but he of course would be offering warranty

Cheers for info guys, I've reduced the price to £8995 but will accept lower as it has ebays 'best offer' option.

I can arrange a warranty no problem, all dealers offer second party warranty they will not usually guarantee the car themselves
