Hi all.
Took the Z in today for the laser alignment check.at drury lane services oldham lancs 0161 688 7882.great service and help/advice.ended up costing £80-00+vat. £40-00.for the check and a print out with ,easy to understand diagrams.and £40-00 for the adjustments. However mine showed up that the front passenger side wheel and the rear driver side wheel that the camber is out of the tolerances as of the bmw spec.ie both the wheels are leaning in at the top .As the is no adjustment for this ,it`s something i will have to live with, unless someone out ther knows different?.the car drives o/k no wandering or pulling to one side etc If i had not had the check done i wouldn`t have known about this .Sometimes ignorance is bliss.ps had the car 6 months with new tyres on. done 1000mls no sign of tyre wear yet.Would i use this service again? Yes. it costs more than standard tracking, but it is a far more accurate method and details faults with alignment.

If your camber is out it is not something that can be addressed by getting the tracking done on the rear wheels, which you have already stated. I had a similar problem on mine as it was noticable the camber on one rear wheel was more than on the other wheel.

I ended up getting the 'trailing arm' (I can't remember if it was called this) replaced with a new one and it was not cheap!

So if the wear on the tyres isn't that bad and it drives o.k. I would just leave it as it is.

Hi Mitchell.
Thanks for the input, went under the car today with the mechanics, checked this out (i call it the swinging arm-same thing)all bushes and mounting brackets seem o/k no signs of any damage, but i was thinking this arm unit may be the cause also.So at the moment i`ll live with it,but will be on the lookout for a reasonably priced unit.
Many thanks Maurice
