Ok my wife and I both have bus passes which we never use.

She  has had Bluie for just over ten years ( 1.9 auto) and I 8-) have had Blackie (M) for a little longer.

Have no intention of exchanging for the bus in the near future!

Had my first zed at 25. A 2001 3 litre kept it for three years and just got another now aged 30. Got another 3.0 2001 plate but different colour to last time.

Bought my z3 2.8 in the week of my 40th birthday (about 15mths ago). Was it because
a) i was turning 40 and having a crisis, or
b) simply that, having just spent 2 years living in India, i needed to buy a car and had the cash, personal freedom and inclination to indulge myself in an attractive and fun piece of engineering rather than "13ft of metal and rubber" as the saying goes?

Let you decide.

It's a zed weekend... :D

I decided to start my mid life crisis before it started of it's own free will! I made more of a joke out of it than my mates, which defused the jokes they could come out with.

If I hadn't have started, I would have missed out on the whole Z thing.

If I still had a wife, I would not have been able to afford it

Eeeeeeeeeeee your 40's are the best years: Wise enough to know, but still young enough to do the things that may have got you into trouble and more...............

Little bit of guesswork as not everyone has been completely clear

So.... approximately.... average age 43

Age Up to 29 - 21 peeps or 24%
Up to 39 - 14 peeps or 16%
Up to 49 - 23 peeps or 26%
Over 50 - 31 peeps or 35%

but as one member said.... age is but a number and we're all kids at heart. :D

Well done snoops, thanks for working that out and giving it your full 101%.
Interesting figures, I wonder if us more mature (being kind) members are buying the car we wanted but couldn't have at the time?
Certainly the case here, my wife fell in love at first sight but circumstances meant we couldn't have one then.

haha - that's Excel for you, it's rounded up... it's good enough for this exercise :D

It was the same for me, wanted a Z3 from the day I saw one in the Bond movie, simply out of my reach at the time and totally impractical.

Waited years to get one... maybe that's why Zippy is a "keeper" :D :D

This was the case with us as after seeing Goldeneye my wife saw a Z3 and was in luvvvvvvvvvvvvv  but she couldn't have one then. After that she started back at work, started saving and 10 years later bought a Z3 as her 50th birthday present to herself.

After nearly 7 years the Z3 was replaced with the Z4 (she had continued saving) and I missed the Z3 so I bought that just before my 59th birthday. I haven't got a bus pass but my winter fuel allowance does pay for around 1,200 miles of top down motoring as I save it and use it as my summer fuel allowance. :D

58 and owned the Z for 2 years after finally "growing up" (my wife's words) and selling my beloved Honda VFR800 motorcycle. Love the Z just as much, and it's a damm sight more comfortable!

I saw my very first Z3 when I was on holiday in North Carolina in 1996/7.

I was instantly smitten and wondered why I hadn't seen one in the UK.

I vowed to have one, one fine day and now I have two

The only car I can think of that I would ever part with my Sharky for is a Z8.

Nothing else grabs my 'must have' car instinct

I will do it one day when the time is right............. not a bad investment methinks. ........... but then when it comes down to it........... I couldn't part with Toadster after being offered an excellent trade in when I bought Sharky................. mmmmmmmmmm maybe 3 BMW roadsters then.

I too was attracted to the shape/looks of them the first time I saw one when they were first released, but at the time there was a long waiting list for them and they were being sold on at £1000+ over the list price, so it took a couple of years before I finally got one. Its not likely to be sold

Have had Healeys, Jaguars, MGs, Sunbeams, Rileys, Triumph 3s &4s,
and Porsches over the years.

I decided to rebuild my Healey 1004 as it was getting quite tired (many great miles). I was lost without a sporty car and just happened to see the zeddy in the local stealer. (face lift 3.0ltr roadster). Never thought about one before so went for a drive and was hooked. Nice modern reliable sports classic with retro handling. Still havn't got the 1004 back on the road though. AHH well.

I better come clean as well then, as I didn't give my age - I might have been 25 when I got the zed, but that was 11 years and 2 months ago - I'm an old fart of 37 now! Think I may have mucked the stats up there.

I had to wait 6 months to get my zed and I was still saving up to pay for it during those 6 months! :P
