Failed thermostat

Post by bighernan »

I think my therrmostat is failed in the open position as the needle doesn't get much past the 1/4 mark. It's going to the garage next week but is it safe to drive in the meantime?

this is not specific to the z but when my thermostat failed in open position on my landrover all was fine no damage just really poor fuel economy said to be as the engine was constantaly running cold so should be fine.

Yeah fine to drive, as above fuel economy will be poor.

It an easy and enjoyable jod to do. A hours work and about 50 quid will do it too. You also get to know how your car works.

Look at my journal at the bottom of my post (blue link) and there is a step by step guid.

Good luck
