Time to leave :-( an idea on asking price?

Post by Rob13 »

Well, after toying with the idea of taking my zed with to New Zealand I have come to the conclusion it will just be another headache....although money wise even after £2k shipping it would have still been less than buying one there!!

It is a garaged R reg '97 2.8 with only 56k on the clock

A loved and spotlessly clean car, it has 18" Alpina style wheels, modern clear indicators, TONS of history and probably every reciept since new.
Extras are M gearlever and steering wheel, Nokia BT car kit and upgraded infinity speakers (6" with dash mounted tweeters) The Alpine full IPOD compatible radio will prob be replaced with a regular CD model.

(M steering wheel not shown in pic...will get new pics when the rain stops!)

7 months MOT, 2 months tax.

Take it with you - you probably never find one that looks the same - The black frame looks perfect for a silver Z3 - and I love the wheels!

I bet that you are already looking for something in NZ - so why not bring your own - are you planning to stay there permanently?

It was going to be the plan to take it with - It would have been about £2000, with similar age zeds being about £8000 it would have been worth while, however their certification of what they will allow in to the counrty is SO strict and such a mission, from what I have found out only the dual airbag Z3 is 'pre approved' I would have to get letters of conformity etc. With the move and a wedding straight after it was another worry I could do without. I will also take it as a time to get a 'sensible car' so I can avtually take people and stuff along with me!

....thinking RX8 but fuel economy and the difference in torque are big negatives.

I owned one of the first 230 RX-8's back in 2003. One of the most involving cars I have ever owned.........I sold ( still in warranty), 2.5 yrs later. 16-18 mpg, clutch sometimes easy to burn & danger of damaging cat's from flooding, (when cold & not shutting down properly). If seeking privately I would aim for a one owner car so as to scrutinise seller re correct checking/topping of correct oil. Still miss the car but for similar fun, more torque, & less relaibility worries a used 350z makes sense. I could name others but dont know budget & needs.........Probably best you start another thread if not wishing to detract from talk re your Z3.

Good Luck with the Z3 sale - great looking car :)
