Lower steering assembly play

Post by Roadster22i »

I have slight play in my steering and i think its coming from the joint in the lower steering assembly. Is it possible to open up the round metal housing and replace the joint thats in there. Or is it just a case buying a complete unit from bmw.

Hi, I assume you mean the wishbone. It's best to replace the whole unit. I've just replaced both mine at a cost of £24.00 each, these were from my local motor factor and are Quinton Hazell.

The lower steering column is one part and you cant buy the joint separately. I bet it will be expensive from BMW. You would be better getting a secondhand one methinks.
