Cold heater !

Post by markrnorton »

Ok, little problem here on the 1.9 engine (actually on the girlies 318ti but same difference).

The heater will not blow hot for some reason, the car reaches normal gauge temp in 5-10mins, so that appears fine, all the cars hoses get hot, including the heater matrix hoses, rad gets hot and pressurises and i have also checked the heater valve works.
Yet i still cant get temperature out of the blower !

any ideas ? the only thing i can think of is if the heater matrix is partially blocked ??

I have had a same problem on a e36 319 coupe and it turned out to be the pollen filter that was blocked, don't ask me why but every thing was fine when it was changed cheers tony.

Mine was the same. Then it got so bad it blown the rad cos of an airlock. Problem cured by replacing head gasket.
