Rear Spring Pads

Post by Tori »

We are in the process of lowering my car, whilst we have the front sitting at a nice height the rear does not seem to have lowered much.

Am I right in thinking you can get thinner (or thicker) rear spring pads. Im looking to get some thinner ones as mine seem really rather quite thick.

Anybody know what the thinnest ones available?

Can I be cheeky and ask if you are lowering the car do you now have a surplus set of standard road springs,
I have broken a second spring in less than 6 months, 1st rear and now front. I don't want to lower the car as I already have access issues catching the front bumper.

The pads just sit on metal supports. They slide on and off, depends how old they are and how much dirty will depend how hard they are to take off but pulling down and rotating will get them off.

Sound advice guys! I like to know in advance what I'm going to be up against and this sounds like what we in the NE call a 'canny job'. According to the history the front struts where replaced in 2005 so was hoping they'd be OK. Looking at doing some rebushing next though but, blimey where to start :? ZeeThree suspension seems a white hot topic on the forums - so much talk and just as much confusion :?:

Just to sum up - I changed the rear springs and pads yesterday without problems. One spring was broken with the other OK. So if anyone has a use for rear spring from a 1999 1.9 it's yours :)
