Does this mean my Z had a hardtop in the past??

Hi guys,
Is that the point where the hardtop anchores?
I bought the car used, so if it had a hardtop, that would save me a fitting kit.

Thanks!!

It's missing the rotating cover that goes over it when not in use, but yes, that is a hardtop mount. That is the left-hand one and has the contacts for the heated rear screen on it - they mate to similar ones on the hardtop itself.

You should also have two grub screws in brackets on the windscreen frame, which are used to anchor the front of the roof. If these are missing, you'd need to buy some before fitting a hardtop.

You do indeed seem to have got lucky there - now what are the chances of a green hardtop being for sale in Israel?

Why would you need a hardtop in Israel? Isn't it a bit warm most of the year?

Thanks for the replies guys,
It is summer 90 prevent of the year, but the last ten are crazy pouring rain that finds the weak spots of our softops...

I'll
Snap a pic if the front frame, good to know.
As for finding a green top, it is easier to import... We have only 4!! 2.8l zads in Israel to start with, do here a wide bodied zed is a rare sight.

I'll widen your options for you then.... the hardtop is a standard fitting for all Z3's, pre- and post- facelift, ///M and non-///M. Does that take you up to more than a dozen?

Hi

You are a very lucky person to have a fixing on the car
I bet there is a lot of envious people watching :head:
wishing their car came with one fitted

If you fall on hard times there is a couple of
hundreds pounds sitting there doing nothing :D
