I've seen this shed on here at least twice before. It doesn't get better with age, either. As for turning heads . . . . . . .I'm not surprised. You'd need a double take to let it all soak in!!!

Taste
It Is rather a victory for enthusiasm over taste, but if the bits of checker plate and the imitation flush filler cap were removed it would look too bad.
I would also get rid of the polished wheel arch lips, but these were a modification accepted by many BMW owners during the 'eighties - particularly in Germany, usually being fitted to cars bearing 'Bavaria' script on the boot lid, which was a genuine BMW accessory to please the mpore rabid enthusiasts for a free Bavarian state!
At least it looks better than this poor Zed, which I noticed at the Swiss Zed rally in 2008!

It hasn't improved with age, though I see that some bits have fallen off.

Re: Taste
I think the basic car is pretty sound. I have met the owner who seems a very decent chap. We got talking about cars and turns out he has a Z3 too. Loved driving it and thought the performance and handling were both excellent. I think it has been looked after well, garaged for the winter etc etc.Mike Fishwick wrote:It Is rather a victory for enthusiasm over taste, but if the bits of checker plate and the imitation flush filler cap were removed it would look too bad. ]
