Hi.
Just a follow up on a different thread where I wandered off subject somewhat.....
I have had the Front Wishbone, Lower, Rear Rubber Bushes replaced with
PowerFlex Bushes and that has made a huge difference to the Tramlining
issues with my 2.2i.
Also have a Brace Bar fitted and I also make sure the tyre pressures on the front are 32 psi every week.
So if you want to make a difference to your ride do the above.
I will also be replacing the front tyres with Falcon 952's when the time comes.
Thanks go to you guys on this forum for your help with this problem.

My zed trsmlined terribly when we bought it. It had
meaty falken 912's on it, but it just couldn't hold it straight on a curvy road.
Had it checked by local Indy specialist who said that the bushes and all were good and didn't need replacing.
Then went to my tyre fitter and asked them to do full balancing and alignment on it.
He said they were massively out, more so than he usually sees.
Anyway, it was minutely betterbut still tramlined badly.
2 months of driving since then (about 800 or so miles) it is so much better.
It seems to get better week after week and no longer seems dangerous to drive at speed.
I guess that the tyres were wearing badly when they were out of line, and they are now gradually wearing to how they should be.
Glad I held out.
At one point j was going to sell it and get a mini again

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..
Ours tram-lined quite badly when we first got it, 97 2.8. 75000mls
I went the whole hog,new standard shocks and springs all-round (my belief is any suspension system is past it's best by 50,000mls and severely compromised by 75,000mls)
Fitted ///M wishbone bushes.
Had the laser wheel alignment.
Daren't tell you the total cost but the car now handles impeccably without any trace of tram-lining.

Just to add to my previous post the car was tried in stages as each mod was made.
First
Wheel alignment was slightly out, with no real noticeable improvement to tram-lining after it had been done.
Second
Replacing the wishbone bushes to ///M bushes.
Marked and noticeable improvement, but still tram lined especially during spirited driving.
Third
Replaced the whole suspension system which was the original.
Replaced using standard shocks and standard ride height springs.
Expensive, but this car is a keeper so not really an issue for us.
Totally transformed the car, no tram lining at all handles really well with good feel, no banging and rattling in the car despite it still being a fairly firm ride.
In conclusion I feel each mod played it's part, but without doubt renewing the suspension made the biggest improvement.
