Been to pick the car up this afternoon after having new clutch, DMF, slave cylinder, and braided hose fitted.
The guy who always looks after my cars and is very good, tells me the clutch is not releasing,he is going to have a look tomorrow.
Just wondered if the collective on here had any thoughts.
I read somewhere it is imperative to bleed the clutch with the slave cylinder detached,is this so?

Clutch not releasing
One of the problems with the Z3 clutch hydraulic circuit is air in the system. It has to be bled by the book, which means unmounting the slave cylinder and fully compressing the piston before pressure bleeding with the bleed nipple uppermost. This is the only way to successfully bleed the system and even then may need repeating.
On the other hand the push rod may not be engaged in the release lever,in which case I hope the push rod hasn't escaped into the bell housing.

Well everything that was replaced was oem bmw,on re stripping the clutch it would appear there was a faulty release bearing which had disintegrated as soon as the clutch was engaged.
Glad it was in the workshop and not 20mls down the road.
Real downside is weve missed two glorious days when weve both been off.
