locking wheel nuts with 15mm spacers on the rear

Post by swamper »

what locking wheel nuts have you chaps used...........iv had a bit of a mooch round today only to be told i'd need specialist ones.
i found ones long enough but because of the 60 degree taper they wouldn't fit .
if anybody has any for sale would be great?
thanks

I emailed McGard asking if they could supply locking bolts with 2 normal length for the front and 2 15mm longer for the rear, and they placed it as a custom order for me, and they arrived 3 days later.

Odd. How does a wheel spacer make any difference to a locking bolt??
What did you ask them? I filled in the web form with:
I'm looking to get a set of locking bolts for my BMW Z3, and have 15mm
spacers on the rear wheels, which means longer bolts are needed on the
back wheels than the front.
Can you supply a set of 4 locking bolts with 2 standard length for the
front, and 2 longer ones for the rear?
And got this as a reply:
at first I would like to thank you for your e-mail and your interest shown in our high quality products.
We can offer you a mixed set as you describe in your e-mail. Do you have original BMW wheels on your car?
If yes, I can offer you:
Set 27HLX in M12x1.5, cone seat, 2 bolts with shaft length 26,4mm and 2 bolts with shaft length 42,1mm.
The price of the set is 70,00€ including freight to UK.

Swamper,

The annoying thing is I have 2 extra length mcgard studs spare. Don't know what the chances are of you buying a short set and them having the same key is?

We could swap two short for two long...?!?!

Pretty sure theres zero chance of them being the same, have you seen how long the code you have to send off for replacement studs/keys is?

I dug the packet out late last night and saw the code

Looked on their website and found a replacement key was 18 euros...

Life is never simple.
