Water behind fuel flap

Post by Ming »

Does anyone else have the problem of water getting in behind the fuel filler cap and forming a puddle? Had this last week after rain, cleaned it out but today after gently washing it filled up again. Not sure if there should be a drain hole in there or a better seal around the flap?

Cheers

Ive seen a thread a while ago. But, Cant find it. Apparently there is a drain hole at the back Inside the fuel cap area. Its that gets blocked & a squirt of gunk & a pipe cleaner clears it, Thereafter just keep an eye on it (this is from memory, I read the thread maybe a month ago. someone will come along & Clarify I'm sure Ming :D

There is a drain hole at the bottom but in the side rather than the base - this is a LINK to a previous post with a picture.

Blimey - more replies than I thought I'd get in a week and all in less than half an hour

I thought there would be a drain hole but even after clearing the water out I couldn't see it. Will have a prod around tomorrow.

Thanks again all.... 8-)

Sorted now - found the blocked hole and cleared it by poking a cable tie down it.
