CD changer was stuck but managed to fix - May help someone.

Post by Gelert »

Hi!

Last week I put the CD magazine into the unit in the boot and the player showed 'No CD'. I tried to eject the magazine, but nada!

After a bit of trawling around the forums I found a solution which may be of use to someone in future.

I slid an old credit card under the CD unit from left to right and it 'caught' on a manual release trigger under the unit, flicking it and ejecting the magazine. With the CD magazine out I then pressed the eject button and let it reset. I then put in the magazine - gently - and it worked fine.

This has happened again once since and the card 'trick' worked.

Hopefully, this will be of use to anyone experiencing the same frustration.

Gelert. :)

A brief search on here for "CD and stuck" reveals 18 threads on the subject. It is something that seems to happen to somebody about every 4 months.

Start here:

It ought to be in the knowledgebase - maybe you could take some pics and write it up? :)

Cheers R.

Lovely tip. Worked straight away. Just bought and installed a new CD/MP3/Bluetooth radio so I'm happy to get my CDs out.

Now need to remove the old unit. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I've searched without much success.
