Post by Claire X »

Hello all

I'm a new Z3 owner and new to the forum. Just wanted to say hi.

Myself and my partner (Tasha X) also own a 750i and are members of the 7 series forum, in case you might have seen us at shows with them :-)

We just picked up a 2000 individual z3 in mora red and are hoping to get it up to show standard - it's due a good clean this weekend and we're going to fit a new rear windscreen (any hints and tips gratefully accepted!)

Hope to meet some of you soon

Claire

Sooooo, has anyone actually replaced their back windscreen? Any pitfalls to watch out for?

Looks like a bit of a pig of a job, but certainly doable!

Better to use Photobucket or similar to host the pics then paste them here

:wave SNAP Nice to know that there is another one out there.

What engine is it? Is it 2litre like ours?

Try using photobucket to upload some pics. 8-)

Welcome to the forum, would be good to be able to park alongside a twin on a cruise. It would be nice not to be quite so individual now and again :D

Welcome to you both.

Top tip for the rear screen - unlatch the roof to slacken the roof tension and have an assistant outside holding the screen whilst you zip it in from the inside.

Hi welcome on board.

Rear windscreen is pretty easy, first one you do just take your time and have a spare pair of hands, should take less than an hour.

Its one of those jobs once you've done it once you'll do it in less than 30 min next time and say its easy

ps I would get an OEM one from your local dealer and not be tempted by one of the ebay jobbies. I've never seen a non OEM one thats as good a fit in the flesh depsite plenty of people claiming they are  (if your a BMWCC member don't forget your discount :D )

Re posting pics on threads here are some instructions:

http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7658

Again dead easy really, the principle is the pics are not saved on the forum servers but on any photo hosting server and you just post the [img] links in your thread which pulls up the pic from the photo server :rtm:

Wow! Three in one day :D We were beginning to think that we were the only ones and ours is a W Reg too 8-)

A bit like London buses, you can wait ages, then three come along all at once

We wondered if there are any Mora out there!! :roflmao:

A warm welcome to the forum from the USA!

Would love to join you all in a cruise sometime, but getting my car to the UK would be too much hassle. Maybe when I'm there next year in a 1 series rental.

Thanks, I'll look into that. My other half still has family in Glasgow, and I've got some in Chester so I don't have to look far to find the roots!

:wave Hi Claire X
Talk about Deja Vu, we have a picture just like the first, except ours isn't quite as shiney owing to the fact that it is covered in Steam Engine Soot from the Masterpiece in the background
Image
We have yet to find a colour that is so 'Individual' the title suits the car perfectly.
Hope to maybe see you at the June ZFest next year. are you going? should be good fun :thumb:
