Any one fitted an auco or cabriodesign wind deflector ?

Post by david3004 »

I'm the new owner of a July 1999 2.0 Z3 without roll bars and I'm trying to find a wind deflector to fit this model.
It has the mounting points for the original BMW part but I've given up trying to find a used original mesh type as they seem to be like hens teeth. There's lots with 750mm centres but none with the 700mm mine requires.
Following comments in posts elsewhere on the forum I've looked at a couple of websites auco.de and cabriodesign.nl.
Has anyone experience of fitting clear acrylic deflectors from either of these companies to my model of Z3 ?
Thank you
David

Deflector Part No 82159415972

Post by david3004 »

Thank you for the feed back, unfortunately it's part no. 82159415972 that I'm after and BMW have in their wisdom discontinued it. I've emailed BMW customer services in case they know more but from comments elsewhere on the forum I don't hold out much hope.

I've been looking on eBay for a while now and all the one that come up are the earlier version that has different fixing centres.

I was hoping to find someone who has used either the auco or cabriodesign solution before I take the plunge and buy one.
