water inside boot lid

Post by clairemad »

Is there a way to stop water getting in my boot

Ive got a new 3rd brake light on it way, as its got rusty with the water.

I think the water getting around the light maybe.

I'm going to reseal the new light when fitting and hope it dose the trick.

Here are a few threads to read through... :rtm:

A few different theories, but usually down to the third brake light 8-)

Hi Claire,

It will either be third brake light seal, rear light seals, aerial grommit which can perish or the base of the hood leaking. Its just worth checking aerial grommit and rear of the lights but it will probably be the seal on the brake light which are known too fail on prefacelift Zeds.

Tim.

I'am pretty sure you can't buy the gasket separately  you have to buy the whole rear light

Pre- and post-facelift cars have different lights. You can definitely buy the gasket separately for a pre-facelift. Not sure about the post-facelift, as there is no gasket shown on the diagram.
