passenger seat stuck high postion

Post by Z3cade »

Hi guys, this is the only problem i have on the car and i need to get it sorted..

The passanger seat is stuck in the high postion..
The up and down motor dosnt make a sound when you try the switch but the back forward works fine..
Can it be adjusted manually? or any ideas?
Ive had alook under the seat and its all pluged in fine..

use a flat head screw driver...and theres 2 micro switches in there one black one white.....i think its the white one for up and down.
i removed one of my seats and greased it up and it still didnt work.....then i traced it to that
the badness makes me do it...!

Another way to check is to swap the connectors under the seat, (up and down for forward and backwards etc.) the connectors are different colours but they fit, this will test both the switch and the motors.

It is fiddely to get to the connectors, you may have to loosen the seat bolts but it is possible.

Well Ardchyle i did exactly as you said and it worked!!!

Thank you very much guys.. Ive managed to get the seat down by swaping the leads over from the motors.. so at least the seats fully down now and your head isnt touching the roof

It means the micro switch must be faulty.. ive no idea how to replace that but the main thing is the seats down and as ive never put them up i can live with it not working so i`ll probably leave it as it is..

Thanks again, Liam :thumb:

Glad I could help Liam, The loom containing the microswitches is a PITA to change, it is a seat out job and partial strip down of the base section, best left alone if you can put up with it.
