Bit of a stab in the dark here but does anyone know if 1 series or e92 3 series seats fit in a z3?

I've been thinking along the same lines after sitting in a Z4M and have always found my own seats a bit on the small side not offering enough support under the legs compared to the M3 or Z4 style.

Don't know if those seats would fit the runners with out some modification but maybe alternative runners http://www.vacmotorsports.com/catalog/v ... z4-all.htm would be the way to go, it deserve some further investigation.

How much weight saving is there to be gained with the seat swap?

PS: If you want more thighs support in your Z3, you can raise the front of the seat with the use of extra long nuts.
Weight saving is another story though...

Wouldnt have thought you could get much bigger seats in there as the z3 seat are tight as is.. :?:

I agree the seats do weigh a ton..

Are you thinking along the lines of a pair of BMW Performance seats? 8-)

I'm only guessing but maybe the seats are heavy because they are reinforced to provide extra roll over protection and swapping them may not be a good idea.
