Chrome windscreen surround problem

Post by dev2008 »

I have a chrome surround going around the windscreen which seems to be pitting slightly, has anyone else experienced this and know the best way to solve it?

it does look as though its solid chrome surrounding the windscreen and not stuck on, i will check this though thanks for the help, so there is no way of bringing up the chrome if it has gone like this?

Autoglym metal polish if it's metal. If it's plastic....it may need replacing.

I suspect that the surround is metalised plastic, like the kidney grills, and small pits are not likely to polish out. If factory fitted is held on with tabs that go into the windscreen frame as well as some self-adhesive - if it has been retrofitted, it may only be held on with tape. The only stuck on vinyl that I know of is the black windscreen surround on the very early models and this peels off to reveal body colour underneath.
