bought a Z3 and i think its cursed
hi to all
im new to this forum and i am enjoying reading everyones comments and reading the information you guys supply.
I have owned loads of bmw's over the years and decided to give the Z3 a go about 4 weeks ago. I managed to pick a arctic silver 2.8 version up for a very good price. After installing a clutch and buying some MV1 alloys i decided to invest in some perfomance mods. A m50 inlet manifold, custom cold air intake system with heat shield and less restrictive back box exhaust were fitted. Then i decided to get it remapped to ensure i was getting the most from my mods. All was going very well until last week. First my freind reversed my car into the garage wall and in turn gouged the bumper. I wasnt impressed. ok so after sleeping on it i sort of got over it. The next day as i was on my way to get it remapped , a dog ran out in the road and smacked my passenger door wrecked it and totally trashed my nearside rear quarter....i just couldnt believe it. I managed to track down the dog owner and luckily got the cash to get the car repaired...happy days....not quite !!!!!!.....Two days later a young lad , new driver decided to run staight into the back of my car as i was stationary at some traffic lights....un fecking real lol. I managed to get the cash out of him for that repair. So in 4 weeks ive had 3 incidents of damage..none of them my fault....i think the car is cursed !!
The car is in getiing fixed as we speak i should get it back tomorrow .....im hoping this is the last of my bad run of luck lol

Owch! I feel your pain.
Although I think it's a little unfair to the Clio to say the damage on the Clio is alot worse than the Z because the back-end of cars is generally stronger than the front. The front does crumple as it takes the impact. Sucks to be the Clio owner though

Now I know how little you paid in the first place, I have no sympathy . Just kiddin'. There is a silver Z3 in Midland BM, Stone Street, Oldbury. You may get all the parts you need from them.walrus5668 wrote:... for a very good price.

Sorry to hear of your troubles but that is one hell of a lucky dog when I had my silver Zed I sometimes would think that i had an invisibility shield around me as people would just pull out of junctions or change lanes whilst I was there. I suppose I now do not have that problem

As long as everybody gets out of the cars safe and well, that's all that counts. If someone had suffered a serious injury, then maybe, the car is cursed but i would see that it's quite a lucky motor, walking wounded but all ok, and i guess the dog would agree.Fix your zed and enjoy, great cars.

It's quite astonishing that the dog did so much damage and survived, and the Clio did so little and was, I'm guessing, written off!

I might be wrong here, but did you de-tango the front and leave the rest? Only just noticed in the latest picture.
P.S
Looks good again, now don't go and have a 4th mishap

I like the tango look, but under the right hand sides headlights, there's a clear piece, I was just wondering if you'd swapped that. I was interested in doing it but can't be bothered, plus, like I said, I quite like the old retro lookwalrus5668 wrote:no its still fully tango'd up im afraid...for now lolLookinFoolish wrote:I might be wrong here, but did you de-tango the front and leave the rest? If you mean the bumper lights, then these are clear in the UK, but yellow in the States.LookinFoolish wrote:I like the tango look, but under the right hand sides headlights, there's a clear piece, I was just wondering if you'd swapped that. My Z doesn't have bumper lights, were they only fitted on certain models or put on certain years of Z3?Robert T wrote:If you mean the bumper lights, then these are clear in the UK, but yellow in the States.LookinFoolish wrote:I like the tango look, but under the right hand sides headlights, there's a clear piece, I was just wondering if you'd swapped that. They were fitted to the 2.8 and all facelifts, or to put it another way, only the pre-facelift 1.9 doesn't have them!LookinFoolish wrote:My Z doesn't have bumper lights, were they only fitted on certain models or put on certain years of Z3?
