I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

I'm the overall winner as after he uses the bulbs he said he will put condoms in the box ..... that alone will impress the receiving person
Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?
Smart little bulb set. What type are the headlamp bulbs? I'd double-check that they are the right ones for your car as some cars have H7 and others HB3/9005 and HB4/9006.

Total cost, sourced from my local BMW dealer parts section, including VAT and shipping: £48.62 (which I thought was a lot, but maybe not too bad after all).Southernboy wrote:around £60 ex shipping etc...

A tonneau cover, new aerial grommet, parts to fix the boot loom issue, LEDs for the boot. About time it got a bit of attention now that big yellow thing is appearing in the sky more often

Comma power steering fluid, 3 in one oil for the hood hinges and silicon spray for the window guides. Thinking about a tonneau cover.

I didn't realise the tonneau's were worth so much! I just threw mine in the loft when i got the car and could never be bothered putting it on. It was too much hassle to clip it all on. does look neater with it on though.

12 months road tax and years insurance so £573 worth of paperwork (I've had a company car for 12 years plus so not used to paying for these 'details' ).
It's my first year anniversary as a Z3 owner as on this day a year ago I was collecting my Z3 from the dealer.

Ha. Mine was 99p cheaper. I used a self-adhesive foot that came with something else and wasn't used. Still stuck in place several years later. Nett cost to me, zero.g8jka wrote:Cheapskategookah wrote:99p at Maplins, product code JP42V.

BMWFans lists it as 0.14 EUR! Just asked my friendly local dealer to check price for me - £5.05 +VAT. Ouch!reddyzeddygo wrote:Odd..... I bought one for my Z3 from my local BMW dealer and total cost (incl VAT) was £0.40 ......

Talk about inflation, the dealer couldn't belive it either. I brought 2 aerial grommet's not long ago and they came to around the same price, haven't a clue how they work that one out!

Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?
It's all about the cost of money....if you have cash locked up in stock, it will cost you as time goes by. That same money could be generating income via interest elsewhere...so to retain the value of your money, you increase the selling price of the goods. Your money will earn what you would have had if you had stuck it in banking investments etc etc.. The value of the goods has no real bearing on the selling price if it's "old stock". Also, to produce the same item 2 or 3 years later will need to incorporate the current cost of production materials, transport, wages, rentals etc etc....so it's unsurprising that these things seem to double, treble and more. I take note on a daily basis the exchange rates between our Rand and the £, $, and Eu. About 3 weeks ago the £/R was 1: 14.2...today its around 1:13.6 it's quite a pile when I'm calculating the cost of stuff I make, or import. If I calculate the cost of an item to sell in the UK at a rate of 1/14.2 it makes considerable difference to me in Rand terms, and I can quote a lower £ selling price as my production cost remains fairly stable vs the currency movements. Conversely I like to buy when the R is "stronger" because it costs less R's to the £ to aquire the same goods. So, I spend when I'm strong, and sell when I'm weak...
