I wish I could believe that! The last two summers have been completely hopeless. The best weather we had last year was actually about now - I had a week off at the end of March and it was glorious. But this time around it's most certainly not glorious and we probably have a white Easter to look forward to.

Took mine to bmw to get it fitted, he said it took 4 hours but he only charged me 3 hours labour because he liked me.

The stubby aerials look so much better than the whip.
But the whip is less prone to damage as its more flexible.

Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?
The whip is less likely to snap going through a car wash badman, be very careful your stubby doesn't break next time you take it through. Infact might be worth changing to the whip before you take it through, don't want the car wash to damage your aerialBadman gee wrote:The stubby aerials look so much better than the whip.

I purchased a car camera/video recorder, very small with viewing screen to get angle correct, good to watch some hairy moments with other drivers etc, cost just over £100.
Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?
In this short four day working week, my little Z will have done another 640 miles by the time I get back home tomorrow night.
I'm looking forward to spending £8.00 for a top wash at my local ARC car wash as an Easter treat for another great week's work.
I realise that some of you might be choking on your tea at the very thought of a Z suffering the ignomy of an automated car wash, but mine is a working car and not a pampered garage queen

Peter

What – no gentle rub down with a real sponge and distilled spring water, a further pre-wax rinse, a good claying and a final waxing with oils extracted from the palms found only on the southern slopes of the Maldives foothills – a snip at £250 per 100ml.TR4man wrote:I'm looking forward to spending £8.00 for a top wash

Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?
The forecasters in the North West are predicting a dry, but cold Easter weekend and so I might not actually treat my Z to a car wash.
.....I'm going to wash it myself!
I'd hate anyone to think me guilty of cruelty to my little faithful friend.
Might even slap some Gliptone on the seats too as I'm feeling generous.

Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?
Since it's called "Good friday"...I'm treating the Z to a thorough interior cleaning...seats come out, and get into the rear hood shelf, under the dash, etc etc...treat the seats to a really good leather treatment and give the front and rear interior screens to a thorough cleaning and polishing. Saturday is a "shopping / chores day, so not much time to do car stuff. Sunday I'll tackle the exterior / body and give the entire car a decent clean and waxing. Wheels off, and clean the inside rims, hubs and calipers and wheel arches. Monday I'll tackle the engine bay and the boot.....as the old schoolboy joke goes..."what a way to spend Easter..."

Re: What did you buy your Z3 this week ?
I fitted my new 80 something celcius water sensor to the radiator and connected it all up. Had to remove the drain plug from the bottom of the rad first to empty it. Refilled the coolant back in etc etc. Not a very challenging job to do at all.
But....what a pleasant surprise when I went out today, and on getting back into the car and turning the ignition on, I was greeted by that electric fan doing it's work....
It cut out about a minute later as the viscous fan took over while driving. Very pleased with this little modification!
