Item 2, the seal for the high level brake light. They've changed it from the original. It is now a large o-ring.

I've been splashing out this week as I bought a high level brake light seal and some paint for my mirror bases and a new rear window and some saddle soap and polish for the leather seats.

managed to get the bonnet fitted every thing lines up,but found that 1 of the bumper supports that bolt onto the chassis is a bit shorter than the other one, I should have checked them before I refitted everything only noticed that the gap between the front of the tyre on the off side is 40 mm to the bumper near side is 70 mm so I've just won a new pair on eBay 2 steps forward 1 back

Just in the last week, the Old Girl got treated to a dimming rearview mirror, a CD changer, front fog lights, and wash+polish. And a full tank of fun juice with red additive this morning. New dash bulbs tomorrow.
Almost spot-on, now. Almost...

A new radio, with a trip to Italy coming up this summer with my daughter as a passenger, Boot space is going to be at a premium so I have now removed the CD changer. The new radio has the advantage of Bluetooth phone connection, digital and FM, single CD and USB connections. :)

When I first took my CD changer out, I bought some grey car carpet material (the sort of thing that people cover speaker boxes with) and just used sticky velcro to hold it in place. I have since bought a non-hump carpet (from SpursFan, funnily enough) but the original work around was fine.

This week it's only been so far a couple of new remote key fobs off eBay for the bargain price of £15 each.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 1888605514
As mine don't light up or work which is a shame but I think it's down to the old battery's corroding the circuit board.
But I may just change the covers over on my old remotes first though as my old ones still look like new.

Also I bought some Giptone for the seats as I've heard some rave reviews about the stuff and now that ive got that lovely red leather looking like new I want to keep it that way.

I did try buying a second hand jacking sill rubber for my Zed as well as one of mine is missing but I think £20 is a bit strong for a secondhand piece of rubber.

I've just been and bought these genuine door mirror parts...for less than a £10
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 1413697538
I don't even need them but knowing that a Z3 door mirror costs a king ransom I thought it be silly not to have some spares knocking about for the price of a couple of pints.

And now that I've bought them I shouldn't need a mirror with any luck but if I didn't buy them then I just know my mirror would get broken. So there's a method in my madness lol.

And I also bought a new jacking pad for £10 with free delivery from my local BMW dealership when on eBay I was getting quoted £20 for second hand examples.

New shocks and top mounts all round. Sachs Super Touring.

Prompted by a leaking rear shock. The other proved to be completely knackered so bit the bullet and did the front struts too.

Wish I'd done it sooner!

All the shocks came from Euro Car Parts.

My car is a 3.0 (with standard suspension) and ECP don't list shocks for it but a bit of research on RealOEM shows that they are same rears as the 2.2 and the same front struts for all 6 cylinder Z3s.

Front and rear top mounts are Meyle and I found them on eBay.

Just installed meyle hd rear top mounts and soften the rear shocks which they are still in very good shape. Car feels very different now, feels like new. Also the noise i was talking about in another thread is now gone!

Installed new (used) passenger door actuator, i now have central locking and alarm working again.

Installed a missing clip on drivers panel

You don't need 2. The driver's seat doesn't have an occupancy sensor, as it's reasonable to assume that there is someone in the driver's seat when the car is being driven! You need to get the car on a proper BMW diagnostic to see what the actual problem is, rather than just buy parts in the hope of finding a fix - and even then you'll need diagnostics to clear the code properly. Find a local person with INPA, that will be far more productive.

Yes took both seats out all wires and plugs look ok but the passenger seat has a funny looking thing (black about the same size as an oxo cube)pluged into the box at the back of the seat , there is a plug hanging out of the seat bottom that looks like it should be pluged into box that i think goes to the seat mat
