I've also seen people use washers and stubby bolts to refix the panels.

A new coat of paint for the CSL.

x2 for the hot glue gun approach - works great recreating the studs with the hot glue. Southernboy went a step further and drilled and taped what was left of the rubber studs and then used micro screws and washers to recreate the studs - like Yalden mentions above - I think Southernboy has too much time on his hands

Lee, screws are removable...so I can always go back there without having to deal with glue / melted plastic studs again.... But if you're sure you're never going to do anything there again, then glue gun is a good solution.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Anyone know if chrome mirror caps are available for a z3? If so could you direct me where. Or do you have any ideas? Could I adapt something else to fit? Must be removable. Oh and I'm buying door handle chrome covers.

It's MOT. Passed, but needs a new handbrake cable. Not sure what it is with my cars and their handbrakes at the moment - the button was stuck in on the one on the Sprite meaning that the ratchet didn't work - think I have fixed it now, just need some warmer weather to get it put back on the car.

Cheers R.

Have you seen the quick alteration you can make to the sprite handbrake that makes it a "fly off" handbrake Rob? That would give the MOT pricks a jolt. Heh heh.

I was actually looking at the photos for this mod to figure out how to get mine apart. Turned out that someone had missed fitting a washer and that the button went in too far, allowing the pin that holds the button on to catch on a flange inside the handbrake lever. Fly-off sounds like it might be a bit scary for anyone else to drive, so I'll hold off doing that unless I take it sprinting.

I would suspect "Ouch"... There are a few BMW specialists in Manchester, but to be honest I also think they are on the Ouch side as well. I have a good indi in Manchester that does mine - Autocare Assist on Whitworth Street - Ask for Steve and mention my name (and wait for the screams  )

You cannot purchase new mudflaps oem from dealer as they have been discontinued. These surprisingly are Halfords universal fit £9.99 ones!!

Gookah has fitted them too - I think he trimmed them down slightly so as not to catch on speed humps etc - I think I will be doing the same before too long

Hi to you all. Since fitting staggered wheels to my 2.0 ltr Auto Z3 and very recently I have also fitted 20mm spacers to the rears the car now not only looks right but looks like the wheels were meant for it.

I will be investigating my local Halfords in the morning with the probability of front and rear protection - possibly after a bit of trimming has taken place.
Happiness is a well kept Z3 and preferably running with the hood down - weather permitting.

Hi

and yes trimming is required, not to mate them to the lines of the body work, but simply, to the contours of the universal fit for the overall size of the mud flaps, you simply cut along where the smaller contour exists, job done!

well worth a £10'er

The ones on our estate and the little ones that sit in the middle of the road. For the later ones I always just take a different route, for the ones on my estate - they are bordering on joining the 3 peaks challenge !

Not this week, but fairly recently. New springs and shocks all round (OEM), new front strut top mounts and rear shock top mounts, new heavy duty drop links front and rear, new ARB mounting bushes front and rear, new rear calipers, new rear brake discs/drums, new h/brake shoes and internals, new ATE TYP 200 road/race brake fluid and new Yellowstuff brake pads. All ready for the Snetterton track day...... But I got a chest/throat infection the day before and felt so rough I couldn't make it! :bawl: :head:

cheers all, :cheers
