Post by z3ddie »

Been all over here and looked at what other people have posted but I have a 1999 Z3 Roadster 2.8 Auto and can't locate any wiring for the heated rear window switch - any help please lovely people?

Should be to the rear of the centre console behind a blanking plate.

On mine you have to remove the little tray thing at the back of the console and dig around under the carpet. Mine's there, wrapped in foam.

On my 2.2 02 reg i had to remove the ashtray and undo the screw under it, remove the 2 screws either side of the back of the centre console which then allowed it to move up a bit. I also had to ease each side out a bit to get it to come up. Remove the alarm light and then follow the wire down and i found my wires taped near to this, undo the tape and youre away. Small hands help when you follow the wire but making as much room as possible is also the way forward.

Hope it helps,

Mick

Remove the rear switch tray/storage cubby and cut the black tape below. Connector for HRW is taped underneath.
