Can't seem to reset service lights

Hi there am I doing something wrong have earthed one end of the wire to Suspension mount with a nut and put other end in number 7 then turn the ignition to the second setting then the lights just stay the same ... Sorry for being a pain today

I presume your reading a DIY? I can't remember which pin etc but did you remeber it's all in the length of time you hold the short.
