Snag in fabric roof-
Hi all i have posted this in the z4 section as that is the car i have but can i ask the same question in here?
Wondered if anyone had any thoughts about what i can do with this?
Its been suggested that i burn/melt it down-which i dont fancy trying,i cant push it back down as the weave is too fine, thought of painting it down to flatten it -anyone have any ideas?-thanks

Re: Snag i fabric roof-
Use a small drop of superglue and press it down with a plastic instrument. The glue won't stick to plastic.
Re: Snag i fabric roof-
Cheers -wont the superglue go hard and white when it dries?

It advertises that it sticks plastics together, but I have never managed to get it to stick anything I need it too. Doesn't even stick fingers together as good as it used too.
Anyone else noticed that 'superglue' is in fact 'uselessglue' nowadays.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Superglue in quantity will be white when dry. You only need the tiniest drop though. Must ask, if your superglue is not too great as you say, it may have to do with the brand. We hae a product here which combines superglue and a fine black or grey powder called Q-Bond. The super glue in there is certainly not useless!! I've had my fingers stuck together and spent 20 mins with them in Acetone to no avail. Ended up using a Stanley blade to separate them. Cost me some skin.
But there are other options such as Stormsure. It is specifically made for repairs to wet suits. But also advertises itself as a remedy for tears in soft tops. A small drop of that would sort.

If you do a search in the forum under stock exchange, you will come across "STORMSURE". You can also do a search on eBay...it's easily found there too.

Re: Snag in fabric roof-
superglue is useless,!!!! unless you use it with superglue activator!
Re: Snag in fabric roof-
What would you guys do?
Re: Snag in fabric roof-
I would leave it alone. More likely to make it look worse trying to glue it down.
Z3M with a few mods...and a little bit more power
Re: Snag in fabric roof-
I cant believe this type of problem is not more common?-especially with all the cats about

Re: Snag in fabric roof-
Get a really good magnifying glass and a crochet type hook...have a look at the weave and try to pry it back into position. It seems so insignificantly small, and barely noticeable. I have 3 cats, and never had this problem, and they all use my roof as their hammock..
