Well considering the weather we had today I'd say it was just about the right time, not a cloud in sight!

I'm hanging on until the end of the month... If I can :shrug

But with this nice weather this weekend it may be off sooner, when it does come off though it's getting booked in to have a new roof fitted :D

Would have liked to have taken mine off this weekend but the OH has hurt her arm so isn't up to lifting it (and I don't trust my 13 YO son to lift it) so it'll stay on a bit longer. I'm wondering if the soft top underneath is OK since if there was any trace of damp when the hard top went on, then I suppose it could be mouldy by now. Might order some soft top cleaner in readiness.

I've made a point of taking it out for a run every now then over the winter, but I just don't enjoy it so much with the hard top on, plus I think it looks ugly with the hard top fitted, so I'm looking forward to getting it off.

Took ours off yesterday, cleaned and vaccumed all the fag ash from the wife, checked the colour of the rear window, then put it back on. No choice as when i first fitted it i had to put it on and off a couple of times to get the adjustment and fit right, when moving the roof up one cold day the window cracked so needs replacing. I wanted to check the tint so we did that yesterday, ordered the window from the bloke in Germany so should be here by next weekend hopefully, then the hard top will be off.

Must admit, one of the best buys we ever made. We only paid £400 for the roof although that meant 2 trips to Southampton, £200 for the fitting kit with everything included, colour match is good, fit is brilliant, condition is 9/10 and i think the car looks nice with it on. Need to do a small repair on the cover this weekend as it has a tear in it, wifes job, then work out where in the garage it will be safe and secure!!

I would really like to get one...but I lose 18% of my power as it is at my altitude...with a H/Top on I'd be prey to the mom's in their Huyandai's and Honda's...just not a good idea...unless I fit a bigger motor.... :D

Not really missed a hardtop on the Z3 through winter, all was snug  and heated seats a boon, having said that the Z4s roof is so so much nicer, BMW should have done it like that from the start, fabric roofs are a PITA long term :(

I know, but I use main daily and it does get to park in some less than salubrious parts of the country and it feels a bit safer with the hardtop on.

Thought about it and the one on the 330, but the shed was full and needs organising.

Ha ha.

No not Nantwich, but I travel each week to Wolverhampton and Avonmouth. When I'm in Avonmouth, I stay overnight so I'm very careful where I park it. It just feels that little bit safer/secure with the hard top on.

No offence to anyone from the Bristol area!

Haven't seen the sun at all in these parts this year. Not totally convinced it's still up there :( Hard Top staying on for now.

Had mine off all winter but it's my maiden year as a sportscar owner so I'm sure I'll mature in a few winter's time and have it back on.

Having said that, with the heated seats and a warm selection of hats, gloves and scarves I've managed to do some sub-zero open top driving in reasonable comfort.

It was sunny enough this weekend to drive back from a hill run in Cheshire in just shirt-sleeves though 8-)

I'll probably consider last weekend to be the first of summer.

Mines staying on as I only picked it up yesterday so i'm enjoying the novelty factor! Needs to be painted in the summer to match the car, but certainly makes it a quieter experience! PS what's wrong with Avonmouth :D

If I had a hard top I'd probably have taken it off this weekend. But I haven't so I have been able to enjoy open topping with a puffa jacket, gloves, beanie hat, neck wrap, winter trousers and a fleece- oh and the heated seats and the heater on feet.

My son has taken his off his S2K today and enjoyed the sun in the south.

I notice that you are a Bristol girl, so I'll choose my words carefully....

I'd feel safer walking up and down Red Square, Moscow with a placard around my neck stating "Putins a ponce" than I would strolling along Severn Road, Avonmouth accompanied by 22 SAS.
