Number 3 for me.
Although would love to see what centre quad pipes would look like, similar to that fitted to a V12 etype!
In love with driving again (its the Z effect)

No3 looks good, I think 1 is a little over kill and 2 just looks out of place. :)

Haha just like I suggested some time ago - now you also have to figure out a setup for headlight washers and an autolevelling system for the headlights :D

Awaiting the final product 8-)

Wide dual exit definitely works! I knew it! :D It might also look good with slightly oval shape tips.

Z3M style would look much better than it looks now if the angle of the photoshopped dual pipes per side would be correct in relation to the car...

here is the video of a walk around of the car - i am really happy with the panel gaps. it makes the car feel like a production car.
I have also got the exhaust box ready for fabrication. (its alot smaller than the VERY HEAVY original. and will make a great sound!

I'm fitting a the full strong strut system next week too.

Looking very nice, you must be pleased with the results. I've been looking forward to see how this would turn out. Now please don't take this the wrong way as it's not meant to be a criticism, I've been seriously considring this as a kit for my Z3 as I like cars that are different, and that's where my problem lies. To me I can still see to much of the Z3 but that could be because I know it's a Z3. The question I'm asking myself at the moment is would I want to go through the expense of taking my very nice Z3 apart adding your panels and then the added expense of a respray. I really do like what you've done and I hope you do well with it, maybe I need to stop looking at it as a Z3.
Don't suppose you can do a photoshop, or whatever it's called, of it in red

For being parked in the mud with no lights and trim that is looking good!
I think with the hood down this will look even better, less Noddy like than a Z when there is a tall bloke sat inside!

What about the side sills- are you working on some to give the side some more shape and tie it in with the lower chin? (I'd buy some shapely side sills from you for my car and I suspect many of us would and the full kit buyers as rusty sills are common place now. It's the only place I have any rust in fact...)

The next car will be red :-) it will start life as a roadster and eventually be the coupe/fastback.
I also intend to do a 2.0 diesel conversion to the fastback for everyday economical driving.

With regards to the sills. In the future when I have got some more cash I intend to slightly rework the mini wings and sills to remove the sucked in 'dimple' that the Z3 has behind the front wheels. This will be an after market extra and developed after/at the same time as the fastback. But currently I have a bit of a deadline. Need to get it all sorted for the magazine articles before the stoneleigh kitcar show.

I would like to see some pictures with the roof down as with the Z3 it gives a totally better look.
Also is it possible to get it lowered a bit..

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

I'm changing the good for a blue one in 2 weeks. It needs a new window too. So I will do a few roof down shots this Thursday.
The car has already been lowered 30mm but because it is lighter it has prob lost some of that lowering. I might get even lower springs put on.

I have similar threads on about 6 forums.
Madaboutkitcars
Madmechanics
Zroadster.org
Pistonheads gassing
Pistonheads kitcar
Bimmers.com forum
Plus my facebook page

And a couple of MX5 ones

I have had lots of opinions and I can say that it has all been useful.
Some comments I have taken on board and have made it into the designs.

Thanks guys :-)

Are those M roadster mirrors you have fitted ? Should have done something else there...Perhaps the new Mini mirror...People see those, they're likely to want them for their cars too... Perhaps get a set of Mini mirrors, and have the bases altered to fit the Z3 door angle and bolt positions...?? They are certainly more common these days...

Yep. Z3M mirrors. I tried the new mini ones and they are MASSIVE!!!
it was a shame because I really wanted them to work.

I have been torn between making this car how I want it and how it will be if people want to buy the kit.

Looks great with roof down and will look even better when clean and photgraphed in a more picturesque setting (not that your shed isn't lovely!!!).

Love the rear lights, any more pics?

This car to me looks Italian and with some Alfa type wheels could easily be the Alfa Z3 they never built.

Cants wait to see it in the flesh.

It drives really well. I suspect it's only around 40-50kg lighter. I'm getting the full strong strutt system fitted soon. So u will see if there are any improvements from that.

The full strong strut setup, I await your comments
I just need to fit the body brace on mine, its patiently waiting in the garage to be fitted, this will complete my setup
There is a lot of opinions regarding the benefits

My opinion about car looks - it looks like some child toy with this face grin. Looks more as VW hippy bus than serious Aston Martin (I see there some wanna be Aston Martin influence in front grille.) So it looks like some baby of some more serious car.

Mirrors look awesome - even better than on Z3M.

What I hate the most - that is the back of the car. It should be more rounded if you wanted some cool elegant Jaguar E-type look and not so bulky low. Now it looks like some big brick fitted at the back of the car.
