Z3 Prices
Z3 Prices
I was idly sculling around E-Bay looking at Z3 3.0s. I'd like to change my 2.8 for a good quality 3.0 but in reality I'm window shopping as I'm skint. Still, I thought you all might like to look at something I came across....
These two, but which one is more likely to sell do you think?

"None!" - why not? Both too expensive?
I rather fancied the 'modestly priced' one. Am I a cheapskate?

Re: Z3 Prices
I sent a message to the seller of the expensive one and asked if he'd made a 'mistake' with the pricing and also gave him the link to the cheaper one. I'm dying to see what response I get. I'll let you all know.
And as for me being a cheapskate - I'll have you know I used to be known as 'Generous John' by a lot of people when I was a few decades younger.
I was also known as BJ, Beej or simply Big John as well - the names were connected.
Now, if I'd had a car like the Zed then - well........

Apols but BJ? That's either unfortunate or embarrassing
Re: Z3 Prices
John, doubt if you find they made a mistake with the price. Think you will find it's because of the mega low mileage, plus the fact it's a mint one owner car. Sounds about right to me.

Re: Z3 Prices
I suspect you're right that they haven't made a mistake in so far as they've put in the number they intended to. However, they have made a mistake in as much as they will never sell it for that money. Sure, it has 27,000 miles but it will still need the same maintenance as the 74,000 mile car.Rafolian wrote:John, doubt if you find they made a mistake with the price. Plus, with the best will in the world, a 3.0 Z3 isn't going to become a super-rare collector's car (at least, not any time soon) where a low mileage will see it appreciate in value. It's a nice 3.0 Zed, that's all. But so's the other one, and if I had 10 grand to spend on a Zed it had better have an ///M badge on the back.
Re: Z3 Prices
Personally I think they're probably both overpriced for private sales in today's very depressed market - only my view but should be about £4,500 and £3,500 respectively. Both lovely cars - I would love to own either. I'd be happy to be proved wrong though.

Ah - yes. Embarrassing I think. I've had that nickname since 1975 but only last year did I find out it's modern meaning!
By the way, I was called 'Big John' by one of my tall, lanky friends at a house party back then - because I was so short - 5' 7". It stuck, but I've been BJ (to my intimate friends) ever since. If only I'd known...

Re: Z3 Prices
If you're thinking of £10,000 this would be a better buy and won't devalue as fast.

Much more car and more desirable than the overpriced 3.0 the lad's advertising on E-Bay.Ragtop wrote:If you're thinking of £10,000 this would be a better buy and won't devalue as fast.

By the way, he replied to my message with this:
Dear hants1950,
Hello.....Well I think it's entirely up to us what we ask for it ..we know how well it's been looked after etc,,driven extremely carefully, maintained etc.....if it sells it does, if not so what!!! we still have a lovely car!!! actually less then 27000 mls...no rush

So, I've put it on my 'Watch List' - I want to see what happens as the sale ends.

Ho, ho, ho.
Very witty.
Personally I feel quite butch when out and about, my top down and the wind in my flowing silvery locks.
