Looking for a service agent with Z3 experience in Hampshire,

Post by Olly2012 »

My Z3 3litre sport needs a service - I think it's just the oil change service - although I think it needs some other work as the engine light is back on again. Does anyone know of a good independent mechanic/service centre in the South? I live near Portsmouth. Don't ally want to take it to a main dealer not least because many of the technicians probably won't have worked on a Z3.

Hi Olly,
Been using these people for three years, http://www.bartleyuk.com
Been good for my 2.8. Fixed prices for servicing and a very good cafe on the same estate if you hang around while they do the work. Alec

Is Salisbury convenient for you?
If so, I can't recommend Emtec highly enough - give them a call at least.

Ouch £53 for an MOT,
£50 for coding,
and £95 for a wheel alignment?

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Thanks all. Gonna try Alexander Autos in Portsmouth which I understand to be a newish business and that Terry who answered the phone is ex main dealer master technician. Seems a bit cheaper than some as probably trying to get new business and claims to use MAN filters and Castrol Edge which I understand are what BMW use?

Hi Bazza,
My latest was an oil service and their list price is £120 but I had 10% off on an offer. I`m sure they will give a discount if you ask. They might not be the cheapest Indy about but they know their stuff and very fair. I had a problem with an air leak which never showed up when I took it to them. They eventually sorted it out and only charged me once for diagnostics and didn`t go down the route of replacing things till they knew what was what. Also if you need transport and you give them time they have a free courtesy car. As you can tell I like them. Alec
