Hardtop
Has summer gone? Is it time to put on the hardtop for the winter?
Re: Hardtop
Mine usually goes on when we start getting the first frost

Re: Hardtop
I usually aim for when the clocks alter... or when I finally manage to make contact with the outlaws to meet up and get it out of their garage.

Re: Hardtop
Fitted mine this morning as a ginger cat has taken to sleeping on my soft-top. Took me 30 mins to vacuume the hair off.

Mine went on a week ago before the raid hit us.
Looked smart at the classic car show today with the hardtop on too.

Re: Hardtop
I had planned to put mine on today. Have you seen the weather in the Midlands today?? It started raining in the early hours, it has not stopped for more than 20 minutes all day so no way it can go on for a few days at least now.
I checked and cleaned the hardtop the other day. After doing everything i went to put it back in the bag and managed to snap the zip. Not the tag, i snapped the back off totally so the whole thing came off!! No idea what i will do now. Cant see it being easily fixable and i have no idae how to be sure of getting the right size replacement zip from somewhere. may be time for a new cover for the hardtop maybe, anyone been in this position before??
Cheers

Re: Hardtop
Yes, I replaced my cover with a new one bought from a member on here. The holes for the hardtop prongs on the old one had got into a bit of a state and it was beginning to look a bit the worse for wear after 12 years of use.
As to the weather - it was a top down day here today, though I didn't as I only gave it a very quick wash in between clearing rooms ready for carpet fitters next week.

Re: Hardtop
Well, since i posted this on saturday it has not stopped raining for more than about 30 seconds. The roof looks fantastic as the wet covers up any wear marks, makes it look really shiny!!!helmik wrote:I had planned to put mine on today. Have you seen the weather in the Midlands today?? Being serious, i want the hard top on now and i am stuck as the roof will take at least a week of reasonable weather to dry out properly. Is this the end of the world as we know it, is this the start of waterworld for real do you think??
