Split rear screen

Ok, so I've just noticed that my rear screen has a split (or knife cut) in it vertically very near the centre width ways and from the centre to the edge vertically . Am I right in thinking that they usually split horizontally? I haven't had the roof down for a couple of weeks and this has happened in the last day or so. Fuming, just what I need just before Christmas. Is there anyway of doing a temporary repair or am I kinda f...ked?

There is a way you can patch the split. I have a similar split on mine (When I put the roof down to fit my hardtop it looked as if the window had folded awkwardly so I pushed it and it split, this was not the usual problem due to the cold it was own fault pushing the window)!

I bought a patch kit off E bay and it has lasted 2 years with no problems and I have used power washers on it and it has been covered in snow and ice too.

If you search on e bay you should find some solutions. I can't remember the name of the product I bought but will see if I can find it and will update this post if I do.

Not sure if its type A or B you need, its cheap and easy to use.

When some toe rag slashed my rear screen on a Rover Cabriolet ( no laughing please it was cheap and mint) I used some thick clear vinyl tape from B&Q there is some similar stuff on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301026345129?redirect=mobile but I also came across this kit if it's more suitable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261333157385?redirect=mobile

Cheers guys, just ordered the Tearaid kit, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. I was thinking of replacing the roof next spring so it looks like my mind has been made up for me. I might even go for the dark blue option
