What E number is my Z3? 1sttime running INPA.

Post by TAV »

Ok, I have the INPA software running on my laptop, and plugged in, ignition on.

The menu doesn't mention Z3. Anyone know what it comes under?

Its a W Reg 1.9 8v facelift btw.

Thanks

Click on Older Models on the menu page then select E36

There is a way of editing the menu page so E36 will appear on the main menu page but that's another story

Yep, its E36.

Got INPA up, but no sign of airbag reset. Can see oil change reset etc.

Any ideas?

Are you plugged in to the diagnostic socket in the engine compartment?

If your car also has a 16 pin connection under the steering wheel and are plugged in to that you will only see the engine diagnostics, the round under bonnet socket will access more modules.

Cheers. I have it up and running now. Have results on 'Rain and Airbag' thread.

Cheers :)

In BMW speak the Z3 Roadster is E36/7 and the Coupe is E36/8, but it looks as though this system just goes off E36.

Wouldn't disagree with the above but there may be some variations on INPA version and car model. The other day Tufarlian and I were trying to access DSC on his 2000 3.0i using BMTechnics gear. We were able to access Engine via E36 as expected, but could not get into DSC via E36 - Chassis. We were about to give up when we noticed an error message with E46 identified in it - can't remember full wording. We then tried through E46 - Chassis - ASC/DSC and got in and read Error memory with no problem.
