Lorry park for me too. I'll be coming across on the A50 then up the A46, anybody else going that way?

RockyDave, myself and I think bentley-boy are coming up the A46 from Loughbough direction. What point will you be joining the A46 from the A50, bearing in mind the A453 from M1, south of Nottingham has MAJOR roadworks? pingu would be coming up from that direction, so perhaps he'll have the best idea?

Cheers KF

Hi KF, according to Google Maps I'll hit the A46 just South-East of Willoughby-on-the-Wolds:

That route is OK if you have sat-nav or a good map. There are some turnings that you could easily get lost at (there are LOTS of turnings on these roads).

Without sat-nav or a map reader, use A50 / A6 / A6006 / A46.

There is a lay-by on the A50 after the M1(North) slip road. You will be turning right on the roundabout to go along the A50 towards the M1(Junct 24) roundabout. The lay-by has a no entry sign (which you ignore) and is just before the Hilton hotel. I could meet you all there if you wish. If you want to do that, let me know. It's a little out of my way, but not a drama.

Hi Mint..........sorry I didn't notice your post. Thanks pingu for your meeting point suggestion for Mint, alternatively if you decide to stick to your original route, this brings you to the A46 flyover by the Nottingham Raceway Go Kart track (east side of the A46), We can meet you there at say 0930 if you wish, so now you have two choices
Badman gee and EnthuZiaZT I've added you to the Newark lorry park, and no one needs their umbrellas cos Dave promises it's gonna be a good'un!! :sunny

Hi Pingu, I do have a Sat Nav so no problem with my original route. Thanks for the offer of a meet up so how about we meet where you say in the lay-by on the A50 at 09:00, then convoy across to the go kart track to meet KF there at 09:30? How's that for a plan? What do you think guys?

AFAIK all Zeds are welcome - this is generally the case for all meets. Don't worry about being the only Z4 as I think it might be Mrs ZC's turn to use her car.

Well after such a c****y week the Beeb reckon that Saturday should be a 'top down' ride to Newark

Image

I have spoken to the museum, and although it's been pretty wet, the photo shoot in front of the Vulcan should still be ok as there is apparently a lot of hard standing in front of it. We have 20 cars so far, so the discount will be £7.50 per car regardless of occupants (I assume maximum of two!!), instead of the usual £7.50 per person. Normal facilities will be open I am told. Hi,despite having to work on Saturdays I'm going to leave work dead on time this week , shoot home 12 mls. get showered and changed and head over to Winthorpe, about 18 mls and hopefully some of you may still be there to say hi. I don't expect anyone to put themselves out or change any plans but if I can get to meet up with some of you that would be great.

Here's hoping for some good top down weather and hope I see you there.

Cheers, Tony. :)
