Have had a good look at the above post and my engine looks the same….
To remove the radiator hoses, is it safe to assumet that the funky looking clips on the 3 connection hoses are some kind of quick release? i.e use these and NOT the jubliee/crimped ones…..
Radiator hoses (removal) M54
Re: Radiator hoses (removal) M54
Yep, quick release, push down the metal clip on then pull the hose off.fish wrote:To remove the radiator hoses, is it safe to assumet that the funky looking clips on the 3 connection hoses are some kind of quick release? i.e use these and NOT the jubliee/crimped ones…..
Edit: you may have to lift the clip up, cannot remember but they are quick release
Re: Radiator hoses (removal) M54
I may well be wrong but I do believe these clips are called 'clic' and/or 'clic-R and there are special pliers available to release and refit them.

I know the ones you mean Mr Silver but the main hoses on the thermostat housing on the M54 (and possibly other Zeds too) can be released without the special pliers.Mr Silver wrote:I may well be wrong but I do believe these clips are called 'clic' and/or 'clic-R and there are special pliers available to release and refit them.

Yep, super easy, just popped in a screw driver and popped the clip up and off - then a gentle tug and off….No issue at all….
