Axle stands under a Z3

Post by Dino D »

Hi All,
Does anyone have some pics of where they place Axle stands when they jack up their Z3?
I will be doing some work on the car and want to leave it up safely for a couple of days and want to be sure I put them in the rights place (with young kids I get a few hours on the weekend if I'm lucky to tinker on the car so what takes most people an afternoon to do can take me weeks!!).

I will also place wheels under the side sills as a safety extra in case of any accident with the stands!
(Also justifys why I need my style 78s and the Beyerns!).

Use a trolley jack under the jacking pads on the sills.

On the front I place axle stands underneath the "Lollypops" at the back of the wishbones.

On the rear I place then on the flats of the subframe just inwards from where it's bolted to the body (be prepared for the subframe to "sink" upwards somewhat as the weight comes down on it; this is normal due to the soft floaty rear bushes).
