Has anyone really removed the line afross the rear screen.

I have tried without much luck and wonder how hard to polish.

Thanks

Greygate polish... If I recall, someone said it's what the airforce use to buff up the plexiglass canopy on the planes... Brass polish also works very well...

I've used Brasso on a couple of plastic windows but have been told that tis can cause the plastic to go brittle. Having said that I did it on one of my cars about 5 years ago and it's still fine and still nice and clear, it was quite bad so used a lot of brasso and a lot of polishing.

brasso seems to be a fairy common solution. I would have thought if it made the plastic go brittle (compared to the number of people who have used it) it would be quite infamous.

Greygate smells just like brasso and doesn`t get rid of scratches but does make the plastic a lot clearer in my experience.

There is a proper BMW cream, but I've found toothpaste to be quite good as well.

toothpaste is a great idea, its very slightly abrasive which is what you need. also a very fine rubbing compound would work. though toothpaste wont have any nasty chemicals which may effect the plastic, good call

Greygate plastic polish is a fantastic product. It will get rid of scratches BUT you can't do it on your own. You will need someone on the other side of the screen with a piece of wood or similar well wrapped in a towel or like to keep the window flat whilst you polish the other side!! Simples. :rtm:
