New alloys

Post by uggers2k »

Hi All,

Need a set of new tyres and as my alloys are kerbed etc and need a refurb, have decided to get a new set of alloys also.

Ideally, I want a set of 18 inch alloys. Would these fit without any mods, or shall I play safe and get some 17's?

Regards

Hi
I have 18" BMW Motorsport wheels fitted to my 2000 1.8 Z3 with 225/40/18 tyres and I think they improve the look of the car over the standard 16" wheels.

I have 18" MV2's on my Z3, with no dramas whatsoever. If anything, the car would benefit for being lowered so the wheels fill the arches a bit more!

17's look alright as well and as the tyres aren't such low profile as on 18's bit more compliant suspension or am I just old.

16's are 225/50 profile 17's 225/45 and 18's are 225/40 to maintain the correct rolling radius.
