Here is a link to the replacement on an M54 motor... your system should be very similar...

I replaced mine on my old M52 2.8... it's a bit fiddly, but not difficult... main thing is to get the air filter box out the way... and then the MAF, and hose that attaches it to the throttle... thereafter it's pretty much straight forward... They are available from a Meyle stockist, and of as good a quality as BMW OEM parts, but at 1/2 the price...

Re: ccv valve?
It should be on the "Fuel preparation" page - It is for the M54 motor.
Re: ccv valve?

Re: ccv valve?
.... Just did a check for you...
It's under "ENGINE" "CRANKCASE VENTILATION/OIL SEPARATOR"
For the M54 it's on the 2nd row down on the engine page together with the cylinder head and related...

BTW........ Meyle supply them - at around 1/2 the price of BMW.... You can use the BMW part number when inquiring at a Meyle stockist...

Thanks for the updates.
Regarding the pair of rubber hoses (part 13 in the diagram) - why does the lower hose have coolant in it ?

Re: ccv valve?
Seems there are 2 hoses - 1 to the cylinder head, and 2. to the engine block above the gearbox.... Perhaps have a look on your car to figure their functions.
Re: ccv valve?
My understanding is that it a cold climate protection which keeps the gases hot and stops condensing/sludging and in extreme cases freezing in the separator. I am prepared to be corrected.henrycrun wrote:Thanks for the updates.
