Idiots guide - my clever Zed?

Post by Warrior »

When I bought my Zed, the guy I got it from, a former member on here, said that the management system when in sports mode (Automatic tiptronic box) remembers my driving style, preferred gear changes etc., At least I think that's what he said.!? :dunce:

Having looked through the manual i'm still not that much clearer but then again I haven't worked out the overdrive yet :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

Could somebody put a simple explanation up as to how the set up works? Cheers...

I have a auto steptronic box in my 3.0 sport, there are three modes to the system
1, full auto when in D
2, sport mode. When in D but pushed to the left, this mode shifts later and revs higher through longer gear changes
3. Manual, when in D and pushed to the left then forward to shift up and back to shift down

Not sure about it learning your driving style but I'm sure someone will chip in with more knowledge than me !!

I believe the control unit does 'learn' how the car is driven whilst in drive. To reset with the ignition turned on but engine not running push the accelerator pedal to the floor and then take your foot off. Never seen any difference but supposed to work.

Interesting never heard of this before, why would this happen as one never drives the same when in sport mode, different roads different circumstances. Just my opinion.

I think all it does is fools the car into thinking you are driving aggressively and puts the transmission into DS but reverts back to normal when you turn the car off.

I just troll along with the auto in D but if I want a bit more push left into DS.
