Easy to service....Z3 3.0

Post by lightning »

So l collected my Z3 today.

The car seems fine, no sign of the rear diff mount failing either.
But the service history says it was last serviced in 2009....10,000 miles ago.

Looking at the oil it must have been changed since then, but l decided to do a quick service anyway. Oil and filter are so easy on the 6 cylinder. Easier than on my Transit Connect van.
And the air filter took under a minute.
Wheels off revealed four new discs and new pads so all OK there, but l used my Sealey pressure bleeding unit to change the brake fluid.
I would recommend this unit to anybody, you attach it to the master cylinder, fill it with brake fluid, pump it up to 20psi, and go round the car with a spanner and milk bottle/hose.
All done in fifteen minutes and no pedal pumping, air locks etc.
Anti freeze checked out fine.
All other fluid levels OK.
Tyres are new but front wheels need balancing.
Spare wheel looks like it had never been out so required de-rusting and spraying black.

Now all good to go.
