Clasp covers for hardtop - anyone got a pair?

Post by fish »

Hi,
Finally got hold of a hardtop & OEM bag - does anyone have any of the black plastic "clasp covers" lying around unused at all? i.e. the little black covers that slip over the pins when the roof is off?

Thanks

Ian

Are they fitted on the hardtop or on the car itself?

Only I am selling my hardtop, plus I might as well remove and sell the fitting kit, so may have the parts you need.

Have you tried BMW parts sellers in the USA? I have bought parts for my last Z3 from there when they are no longer available here. Most will ship to the UK and if the parts will fit in a "small flat rate box" which these will, it only costs a few pounds delivery.

Should have used the part number I guess….yes, the BMW description is actually "Catch, cover sleeve.."

Where as the black caps on the car are called "locking plug covers" - these are available from BMW (albeit special order from Germany)….

I think I'd have called them "feet". The go over the prongs on the hardtop to protect them (and passers by).

Do you want them then, Ian? You can have them for nothing, if you come and collect them.

I would like a pair of these as well, if anybody has any more.

I will pay the going rate for them, within reason.

I think they are NLA from BMW.

One of the few Z3 parts they cannot supply.
